We recommend booking at least 1-2 weeks in advance for standard appointments, and 3-4 weeks in advance during peak seasons (holidays, summer). For weekend appointments, booking 4 weeks ahead is recommended as these slots fill up quickly.
Yes, for the safety of all pets in our care, we require dogs to be current on rabies, distemper, and bordetella (kennel cough) vaccines. Cats should be current on rabies and distemper vaccines. We ask for proof of vaccination at the time of booking or upon arrival for the first appointment.
We specialize in first-time groomers! We take extra time to acclimate your pet to the grooming process with positive reinforcement and gentle handling. For very nervous pets, we offer short “introduction sessions” to get them comfortable with our facility and groomers before a full grooming appointment.
Appointment times vary based on the service and your pet’s breed, size, and coat condition: Basic grooming takes 30-45 minutes, luxury grooming takes 60-75 minutes, and cat grooming typically takes 45-60 minutes. For severely matted coats or special needs pets, appointments may take longer – we’ll always inform you of this upfront.
We’ve found that most pets groom better without their owners present, as they tend to be more anxious and distracted when their owners are nearby. However, we understand some pets need extra reassurance, so we offer a viewing area where you can watch the grooming process without being in the grooming room itself.
Our groomers are trained in handling techniques for anxious or reactive pets. We use positive reinforcement and desensitization to help your pet feel comfortable. If a pet becomes overly stressed or aggressive to the point of being unsafe for themselves or our groomers, we may need to stop the grooming process and recommend a veterinary groomer who can provide sedation if necessary.
